Restored Church family!
We have an opportunity as a community to serve some local families in need! We will be hosting a family dinner for the Monarch School; a school for homeless children in San Diego. We've heard your desire to serve our neighbors in more tangible ways, that reflect the way Jesus has served and cared for us and this is an opportunity to do just that!
When: Friday May 26th, 3:30pm-6:00pm
What: Hosting a Family Dinner for the Monarch School children and their families. Serving 100 people a nutritious dinner, making connections with the families in hopes of having an opportunity to share Jesus with them. Needs are: set up, clean up, hospitality, food service and fund raising.
Where: Monarch School Gymnasium, 1625 Newton Ave, San Diego, CA 92113
Why: We desire to be a church that actively seeks opportunities to demonstrate and proclaim the good news. This is a tangible way to live out the love of Christ and serve our our community alongside one another. We are opening this up to our people of peace who have a heart for service as well, to create a natural opportunity to share what motivates us to serve others sacrificially (i.e., the gospel).
How: Cost for the meal will be divided between each GC. This should not exceed $20 per GC member. GCs are responsible for deciding how they want to raise funds (e.g., yard sale or just collecting money). Exact amount for each GC to raise will be sent as soon as we get the total from catering this week. As a church, we will host the meal at Monarch School and serve the dinner. We hope a minimum of 5 people per GC can help serve the day of. If your members can't attend we'd ask that they still contribute to the meal.
