Baptism is an outward testimony of what has occurred inwardly in a Christian's life. When a Christian is immersed under water during baptism, we are given a picture of our union with Jesus in His death and resurrection (Romans 6:3-4). While baptism does not save you, the New Testament is incredibly clear that baptism is an act of obedience and a privilege for all of Jesus's disciples (Acts 2:38). Baptism is a joyful, public declaration for believers and is worth celebrating!
